Music and Movement

MUSIC TOGETHER™

The Music Together™ Preschool program certified specialist provides children with the opportunity to learn music in developmentally appropriate ways. Music Together Preschool supports cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development, giving parents and caregivers enjoyable and significant ways to relate to their children through music. Recordings, songbooks, and teaching materials are provided to each classroom.

Music Together™ materials allow children to “bring the music home.” CD sets, music books, and supporting material are sent home for parent-child musical play, sharing the songs and activities learned in school.

GONOODLE™ IN THE CLASSROOM

GoNoodle “Helps teachers and parents get kids moving with short interactive activities. Desk-side movement helps kids achieve more by keeping them engaged and motivated throughout the day. GoNoodle is designed with K-5 classrooms in mind.”

GoNoodle combines movement with singing. Studies have shown that singing as wonderful way to express emotion, work on language development, increases neural activity and deepens connections among the students in the classroom.

GoNoodle helps to relieve anxiety and builds joy and comradery with our classmates. GoNoodle will be used as a tool to enhance the learning that is going on throughout the work cycle. The time spent with this medium will enhance the interested of the class and should not be misinterprets as ‘busy work’ or to simply ‘get the wiggles out.’

“To have a vision of the cosmic plan, in which every form of life depends on directed movements which have effects beyond their conscious aim, is to understand the child’s work and be able to guide it better. – Dr. Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind, p. 147.
